The Aakash tablet has become the most popular computing machine with higher demands. The main attraction of this tablet is the price that is very low and can be afforded by students without much of issues. The Aakash tablet was manufactured by Datawind last year primarily to bridge the common gap that exists between the rich and the poor and also to promote education across the nation. There is a high demand for this tablet as it is quite low in cost, and fulfils the basic requirements of students as far as education is concerned. This exclusive computing device has received huge booking orders. In addition, there is another advanced version of this tablet, which will soon hit markets this year.
Mumbai University has received requests of around 25k Aakash tablets. As we all know that Aakash tablet is the computing device that is quite low in cost and has features that are no less than any other tablets present in the market. This low costing device is priced at Rs 1138.
The requirement of Aakash tablets have been received from 90 colleges as well as departments all across the university’s authority. The requests received for these tablets are already so high and there are more such requests that are expected from the university in the coming days. The first lot of requests would be sent by end of this week.
This particular scheme has been extended by the ministry of human resources development for universities across the state. The circular was issued to colleges and universities last month with the requests. Students were informed to contact their respective supervisors for the same.
Out of all the colleges that required Aakash tablets for its students, the highest count of applications, which is around 2262, has been received from students of Vivek College in Goregaon. Other colleges in slightly remote places like Alibaug have ordered these computing devices in huge numbers as stated by Mohan Kumar, the convener of the NME-ICT (National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology).
As per Mohan Kumar, there are more and more requests that are pouring in. There will be another phase as stated by Mohan Kumar, which would be done after seeking necessary details from all across the states. All requests would be sent to the vendor after receiving clarity on the request numbers. In order to integrate the requirements of the central government and the universities, there are alterations being made in the computing device. They are trying to ensure that consumers do not face troubles or go through any kind of inconvenience while using the Aakash tablet.
